Don’t you know the old Commissar joke:

‘BLAM’ Commissar executes Soldier no.1.
Commissar: “Now that should bolster up morale!”
Soldier no.2: “No it doesn’t!”
‘BLAM’ Commissar executes Soldier no.2.
Commissar (smug): “No it DOES!”

But I might admit that is funnier in german because my english sucks:

‘BÄM’ Kommissar erschießt einen Soldaten.
Kommissar: “Das hebt die Moral!”
Soldat: “Tut es nicht!”
‘BÄM’ Kommissar erschießt den Soldaten.
Kommissar (süffisant): “Tut es DOCH!”

Yeah… a commisar shooting berger, firstly this squad of guardsmen isn’t deemed worthy of a commisar, 2. don’t you think shooting one of the few veterans they have may actually DAMAGE morale?
