Well, good news… we were able to get our data back, but that was just a pit stop on our hellish trip through computer woes! After recovering from the drive crash, we ran into a major issue with Adobe Creative Suite 4 – the suite of programs I use not only to create the Gone to Ground comics, but also for all my freelance work! It took the better part of a week to finally get CS4 installed and running (we just finished tonight)!
Now have to get caught up on a lot of work, and it’s not going to be a fun task. That being said, I am going to work on the next GtG page this week and get it up asap!
This past Saturday was the Canadian GamesDay 2009 in Toronto, and I was able to attend (for the most part) and even lend a hand and volunteer. I was asked to work the Art Challenge table and ran a few impromptu “workshops” on simple perspective, foreshadowing foreshortening, and how to draw a Space Marine. I met a few GtG readers to boot!
I also got to judge the entries to the Art Contest. This year’s winner came from local illustrator and concept artist Johnathan Ho, who submitted this awe inspiring Death Korps of Krieg image:
Check out more of Johnathan’s work on his website.
Thanks to the (now former) Canadian Grey Knights & GW Canada staff, Stephen, Paul, and Leanne from Forgeworld, Dan Abnett, the rest of the UK & US crew, and everyone who attended for making this a great GamesDay!

Protip: GIMP ftw
Awesome pic there.
THATS FUCKIN MEAN!!!! *Just started collecting DKK from forgeworld*
Awesome work on this pic! They kinda look a bit like Armaggedon troopers but that’s fine by me
Don’t you mean foreshortening, not foreshadowing?
Doesn’t matter. Good luck with getting your computer to work!
Thanks OnFyre, I did most definitely mean foreshortening… though considering Johnathan’s artwork, I guess this post may be foreshadowing a little as well?!?
Ahh, I didn’t know you were there. I would have stopped by and said hello when I went.
Good to see another comic!
