A new look

For a while now I’ve been planning on updating the site… in fact, I think I had this design finished before our second page was published!

When Gone to Ground was first published I was using the de facto industry standard for online comics; Comicpress. While a big help, it also had a lot of limitations, especially when it came to design… well, okay – maybe not limitations… but at least hurdles.. and roadblocks.

Along came Michael Sisk and his little duo – Webcomic & Inkblot, the underdog in the comic publishing software fight! I’ve been working on a theme for months now, one that I can easily alter – allowing me to kill two birds with one stone! You see, I’ve had a paying gig putting together a webcomic site for my friend Alex Serra, and while I’ve been building the skeleton of his site, I’ve always been working towards skinning it for Gone to Ground as well.

This is the result. Enjoy!

Note: I just took a look at the Comicpress Site, and see that they’ve released a new version. I’ll admit it looks quite nice, but I’m happier with Webcomic; it handles my comics, chapters, transcripts, and comments in a much simpler and efficient way. It’s not for everyone, and Comicpress is quite awesome straight out of the box…. but nothing beats Webcomic for customization!
